Third single release of Charcoal Fire.
Our new single, Stay With Me marks a continuation of our journey into Melodic Metal, aligning seamlessly with our previous releases, Arise and Directions which are also part of this release. This song was crafted to be a beacon of hope and friendship in challenging times—a sentiment echoed not only in its lyrics but also in its dynamic performance and structure.
A pivotal moment during the recording process was realizing that the bridge lacked the full impact of our intended message of companionship. To enhance this section, we decided to include a powerful choir, featuring guest vocalists Leo from Words of Farewell and Jil from Alunite. The result was over 80 recorded tracks layered into a massive choral arrangement, with some parts also enriching the song’s chorus.
Stay With Me builds on the path we carved with Arise and Directions and reflects the evolution of our band’s sound, distinguishing itself from our debut album, Dystopia. The comparison we received to the Canadian band Borealis in a review for Directions felt fitting and inspired us to draw further influence from their music, adding depth to our work.
The message of Stay With Me is simple yet powerful: "If we stay together, we can get through all dark times". This essence of unity is what we hope listeners carry with them.
The recording process was not without its challenges, particularly the coordination of all the singers involved in the choir. However, the effort paid off. The song has been met with enthusiasm and even received recognition from the online magazine Support Your Local Band, which described it as a melodic metal powerhouse with a catchy chorus.
